Ben Mitchell

I’m Ben Mitchell, a licensed mortgage agent with a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree (Honors) from Nipissing University School of Business. I was born and raised in the Ottawa Valley. After finishing post-secondary schooling, I returned home to continue working in the Banking Industry. During my time at the bank, I began to understand the importance of customer service, which got me thinking about how I can better serve the residents of the Ottawa Valley.

In 2021, I joined an amazing brokerage in The Mortgage Advisors as a Mortgage Agent working out of the Petawawa office. Over the last few years, I have learned a lot about the mortgage industry and gained invaluable knowledge and experience from my mentors. Also, during that time I’ve been able to assist numerous clients in achieving homeownership, restructuring debt, and financing their investment portfolio’s.

There is no better feeling than hearing from clients on how I have made a positive impact in their life!

My professional goal is find a solution that best fits the current and future needs of my clients, making personal connections, and forming long-term relationships. Effective communication is key in the mortgage industry. I am known for my great communication skills, ensuring that you’re always informed and involved in the process. When I take off my mortgage agent hat, you can likely find me at the hockey rinks in the winter, wearing the stripes as a referee or a jersey as a player. In the summers, I enjoy golfing at all of the beautiful courses the Ottaway Valley offers and playing baseball for the Pembroke Athletics down at Riverside Park!

Hunter Selle

Assistant

I'm Hunter Selle, I was born and raised in Pembroke and am proud to call the Ottawa Valley home. After completing my undergraduate degree in Commerce at Queen’s University, I returned to the Valley to begin my professional career with The Mortgage Advisors, working alongside Ben Mitchell in the Petawawa office.

Prior to joining The Mortgage Advisors, I gained valuable experience working with both Canadian Nuclear Laboratories and the City of Pembroke as a summer student. These opportunities helped me develop strong communication skills, a professional work ethic, and a client-focused approach that I now bring to every interaction.

In my current role, I assist with client communication, document preparation, and ensuring files move through the mortgage process as smoothly and efficiently as possible. I take pride in being outgoing, personable, and hardworking, and I enjoy helping create a positive experience for clients throughout the financing process. I am also focused on continuing my professional development and am currently working toward obtaining my mortgage licence. My goal is to continue expanding my knowledge of the mortgage industry so I can further support clients and strengthen the relationships we build within the community alongside Ben and The Mortgage Advisors team.

Outside of work, I’m passionate about sports and staying active in the community. Whether it’s hockey, baseball, or golf, you can usually find me involved in some aspect of athletics. More recently, I’ve also started coaching hockey, which has been a great opportunity to stay connected to the local sports community and give back to the game.

I look forward to continuing to help support clients throughout the mortgage process and being part of making their homeownership goals a reality.
